Join us for a special celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, December 6th at 10:30 am.
We arrived at the shop this morning to find that our front door window had been smashed to pieces. After deciding that it had nothing to do with Black Friday’s “door buster” sale, the City of Castle Hills Police were called and they determined that it had been a burglary.
Although the crime was a classic smash and grab, our response is not typical. We would like to take this opportunity to make a case for those in our city for whom the holiday season is not one of thanksgiving, gift giving or celebration. Many families in our very own communities struggle daily to put food on the table and to provide for their families in other ways. In some cases, this leads to desperate and sometimes criminal acts. These events, like the burglary this morning, break into our lives unexpectedly and remind us that we are extremely blessed to have what we need and to be able to rely on friends and family in times of trouble. We cannot know the motivation behind this morning’s burglary, but we hope that those responsible use what they have taken to care for loved ones this Christmas season.
In an effort to help relieve families in need in a time of great need, we will be accepting contributions of non-perishable food and cash for the San Antonio Food Bank on the day of our Grand Opening which will occur this Friday, December 6th at 10:30 am. You are all invited to attend the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and reception afterwards. To keep things fun, we will be giving away free t-shirts to those who contribute 5 or more items and those making cash contributions will be entered into a raffle to win a party platter of delicious croissants. We hope to see you all there!
Although we are a bit shaken up by all of this, we are still in good spirits and will continue to be open during our regular business hours (that’s Mon-Sat from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm). We are incredibly thankful for those of you who have made C’est La Vie a part of your lives and look forward to growing the relationships we have built together over coffee and croissants.
